Just installed Fedora 11. Like to setup cron job to update everthing on a regular basis. any examples?. steps to do it?.

If that's what you want to do...As root put "yum update -y" in your crontab. I personally wouldn't because I like to keep an eye on what's getting updated. I've been burnt before by kernel updates without reciprical kmod updates.

what are best commands to use sequentially to do this update everything task manually?.

from the command line


su -c 'yum update'


then review the list of changes and either approve or deny the list.

You could use the 0kyum.cron script and throw it in your /etc/cron.daily directory. It would run yum at night time and send you e-mails of the results.
