Hello,

Please help me to get multimedia working, or explain what I'm doing wrong.

The problem is that none of the video players doesn't play video, they show only black window and play audio.

I have Fedora 11 Leonidas, fully up-to-date.

I have installed rpmfusion and livna repository.
I have installed following packages:

a52dec
audacious-plugins-freeworld-aac
audacious-plugins-freeworld-alac
audacious-plugins-freeworld-mms
audacious-plugins-freeworld-mp3
audacious-plugins-freeworld-tta

audacity-freeworld
faac
faad2-libs
ffmpeg
ffmpeg2theora
ffmpeg-libs
gnome-mplayer
gnome-mplayer-common
gstreamer-ffmpeg
gstreamer-plugins-bad
gstreamer-plugins-bad-extras
gstreamer-plugins-ugly
lame-libs
libdca
libdvbpsi
libmad
libmms
libmpeg2
libquicktime
live555
mencoder
mjpegtools-libs
mpeg2dec
mplayer
mplayer-doc

twolame-libs
vcdimager
vcdimager-libs
vlc
vlc-core
x264-libs
xine-lib-extras-freeworld
xvidcore
xvidcore-devel

When I try to play video with totem, it doesn't output any error, but just doesn't play video.
with mplayer:

[sergey@plch Colored]$ mplayer 01.avi
MPlayer 29092-4.4.0 (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team
mplayer: could not connect to socket

Needless to say, I tried several different files, which works perfectly in windows and ubuntu.
I installed windows binary codecs for mplayer to /usr/lib/codec/

Please help me to solve the problem. Or please tell me whick forum is specialized on multimedia.

Thank you very much in advance.

(moved to General Support) Just for fun, I'd try running: http://www.dnmouse.org/autoten.html While it seems that you've got everything necessary, Dangermouse has a heckuva script here and it works for most people.

Thank you very much for the help. The tool Dangermouse is great, but unfortunately didn't help :(. The same result as before. Anyway, I'll probably reinstall the system from the beginning (i'm using it only a week, and can make some mistakes), and if it will not work, I'll write a bugreport.
