I have a FC11 box , with an HP prineter attached
I trying to print from my laptops after I have setup samba and shared the printer , It was working fine when I was installing FC4 and FC5
I am not sure what is missing

Have a look at the log files in /var/log/samba.

Just look for anything that may indicate access errors or, for that matter, errors of any sort. I've learned over the years just how valuable log files can be when trying to diagnose computer issues.

The fix could be here http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/system-config-printer-1.1.8-6.fc11
Available soon in the updates.

Turn off the firewall and try again.

its off already
But what I have really noticed in the xp and vista box is that when I go to the printer settings inside control panel , pressing the ports tab and checking to what port I am printing
I see that the port "\\samba-server\printer" is not created there

here is my latest trial today

Looks more like a networking problem than a printer issue.

Thanks Nokia
applying the new fix https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/system-config-printer-1.1.8-6.fc11 after deleting the old printer seems to fix the problem
