I have fc10 installed on an external hd (on usb). I got the grub running from it as well, and so, when it is not plugged in, my computer doesn't "know" anything about it.
It ran for awhile with no problem. I just had to plug the usb cable, change the settings in the bios to boot from the new HD, and go into my fedora. I think I probably logged in successfully about a week ago, and I didn't install anything special, nor updated any core components.
This morning the fedora boot didn't work well. The grub loader works fine, and then the fadora startup starts (the blue/white line at the bottom of the screen), and when its done the screen just goes blank.

I can switch to a different logon (alt+f2), and log to console, but I don't know what to look for in there, to identify the problem.

What should I do to start figuring it out?
