View Full Version : Fedora 11/Rawhide Daily?

Hey:

I have tried to install Fedora 11 Alpha on my laptop yet I can't get to the desktop due to video card driver errors. This happened on the early Ubuntu Jaunty Alpha releases as well so I am assuming this is a common Intel video graphics driver. However, in Jaunty I could select to Boot in Safe Graphics Mode which let me install and then upgrade to solve the problem. This is not possible on Fedora 11 that I know of.

Thinking that the Alpha is already several days/weeks old, I was thinking perhaps a more recent release would solve it. Is there any Fedora 11 Daily releases out there?

Tried it with Unetbootin and nothing.

I'll wait for the Beta then.

On a side note, what has happened to the Artwork for this release. After Fedora 10's artwork, this one is looking really subpar.

the beta should be more complete with the updated intel driver so it should work

Hi,

Artwork in beta is made available early precisely for good feedback. If you have specific comments, feel free to post to fedora-artwork list.

"Seems to me whoever chose the background that was introduced last week did not consider that items with overtones of dissentious subjects such as politics or religion might elicit emotional reactions. I'm concerned that when my system prominently shows a picture with a temple, that might be interpreted as 'Mikus worships paganism'."

Oh god. Come on people aren't religious anymore :p

Man PC sucks (Political correctness)

Well it's important that it's not offensive since there is absolutely no way to change the wallpaper after install.

Right click your desktop > Change desktop background

As for GDM or plymouth BG's that can be changed also, but not so easy.
