View Full Version : Little boot problem

17th March 2009, 05:34 PM

After dealing with a faulty initrd file after installation, i managed to fix it and everything is working almost flawlessly.
Anyway, i've got a little problem.
In my Linux mint grub menu.lst file i ve got :

'kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.29-0.237.rc7.git4.fc11.x86_64 ro root=/dev/sdd6 quiet'

to boot fc11 and everything is running fine but if i remove the 'quiet' option, booting process stops at
"Creating initial device nodesLoading
Loadinu1uu" (should be Loading lib/kbd/some_keyboard_layout/... i think)

System is frozen at this point, reset, put back quiet option and boot is fine.

It's not a big deal as i can boot with no problem with 'quiet' enabled but i'm just curious to know why i've got this problem and if i can solve it.

So if someone has a clue, a log file where i could find some info or anything else, i'll be glad because i really don't know where to start searching.

Thanks. :)

Edit : Problem seems to be solved with today's updates, should have been more patient :) sorry for bothering you :)
