Hi All,

I am currently running FC7 on VMware PLAYER on a Windows 2000 OS. I need to enable direct rendering for FC7 as the program I need to use, Gazebo requires it.

I have tried the

mks.enable3d = TRUE
svga.vramSize = 67108864
vmmouse.present = FALSE

method but it isn't working. Is it because I'm using VMWare Player??

And does anybody here have experience installing and using Gazebo on FC7??

I really need help.

Rgds.

i'm not sure about tat. is a intergrated graphics card able to run direct rendering? :confused:

choosing fedora 7 was because there is a step-by-step tutorial to install the program i needed and it used fedora 7. i didnt want to use a newer version to prevent any discrepencies btwn the versions of the packages.

i mentioned that 7 had hit EOL because there have been no updates for it for over a year and most of the software repositories ( repo) no longer work .
so any software you might want to install on fedora 7 will need to be built from the source code .
if you have the full install dvd ( or was it 6 cd's ) the old dev tools will be on there but if it is a live cd install then getting the dev tools will be " very fun "
