I have been a SUSE user for years and wanting to switch to Fedora 10, simply because SUSE does not ALWAYS connect to my wireless network easily. Fedora never fails!

But there are several problems before I switch completely, listed in order of importance to me:

1) Extremely slow Internet, download speeds with SUSE average 6800 kps with Fedora 200kps, no ideas here tried several suggestions found on this site, but no joy.

OK Internet problem *SOLVED* DID A NEW INSTALL FROM THE FULL DVD INSTEAD OF THE LIVE dvd.

2) Sound will not work.
Still no sound
*SOLVED* added surround to the options it was muted by default, unmuted it and now there is sound.

3) Bootloader all screwed up neither SUSE nor Fedora will recognize the other, both recognize Windows, so need to boot off a boot CD if I want to use one or the other.
Still screwed but closer...

There are a few other probs, but need to fix these first before proceeding. Triple boot on an Acer laptop, using KDE on SUSE Gnome on Fedora, any other info needed let me know.

Would love to single boot Fedora so any help with these issues would be appreciated.

3) that "should" be salved by reinstalling grub once suse is off .
2) i don't know i am using f9
1) that sounds like a ipv6 , is firefox set to disable ipv6 calls ( in about:config)
fedora 10 uses ipv6 by default ( and crashes my old network card - so i am stuck with f 9)
so i am not sure on disabling this on 10 or if it would work ( i have never gotten fedora 4,5,6,7,8,9 to connect to the net - once ipv6 was turned on during the install -- must be disabled during install ,for me at least )

Not an ipv6 problem always the first thing I disable. Re-installed grub many times, windows is fine but SUSE and Fedora refuse to co-operate.

and you have added the location of the fedora bootimage to the suse grub.conf ( and visa-versa)
adding ( my fedora 9 part) this to the suse grubconf did not work
