Hi,

I'm a newbie to Fedora, I need to figure out where the 'uuencode' command is, apparently it is not in my path so I am assuming that I need to install some package, can someone tell me which package has uuencode??

Am desperate, thanks

/usr/bin/uuencode

found out with


whereis uuencode

its not there in /usr/bin

I installed Fedora as a Workstation, but its not there! where is uuencode does not give me any useful results!

Is there some other package I need to install which has this tool??

rpm -qf /usr/bin/uuencode
sharutils-4.2.1-18


so you have to install sharutils.


yum install sharutils

I like uudeview (http://dag.wieers.com/packages/uudeview/) for this type of encoding/decoding. It makes it easy.
