Just want to canvass people's opinions on this.

I have an old laptop (reasonable specs - 1Gb, 1.6Ghz Pentium M) with wifi that I want to use as a bedroom jukebox.

My music is stored on a central NAS device which I can access via SMB. It also runs an itunes server. (Qnap TS409 for those who are interested).

What is the best solution for a streaming jukebox with a good interface?

Of course I can easily map the share and play the files manually but I want something more streamlined than that. Many programs e.g. amarok, rhythmbox, seem to bork if I try to make them see the library as files on my mounted share, as that share is not always mounted (wireless network).

So I'm thinking the best solution would be something that can hook into an itunes library over IP? Is there such a client available.

Thanks for all input

I use SqueezeCenter running on VortexBox (Fedora 10 respin). It has a great iPhone interface as well.

Good tip, thanks for that.
In meantime I discovered rhythmbox can hook into DLNA and my NAS also has DLNA, so using that for now.
