View Full Version : Static IP

I use my laptop with many wifi networks and DHCP and have no problems with NetworkManager.
However, my wifi connection at home is set up without DHCP and in Windows I use a static IP.

To use a static IP in F10, I used the 'Edit Connection' option of NetworkManager and, under 'IPv4 Settings' of my wifi connection, I put all the information for my static IP, as it works in Windows.

At first I had some problems with the Subnet Mask, which was not correctly recorded. After an update of NM, this bug was solved and I actually managed to connect with no problems.

However, now it does not connect any more. It still works fine with DHCP in other networks, but no way for my static IP connection. Do you have any suggestions?

I would like to stick on NM, because it is handy with all the other connections and use the static IP only for my home connection. I don't want to change settings everytime I connect to a network. Moreover, it worked once, so it should work in some way....

After today's kernel update, it apparently works again...
Hope it lasts!
