View Full Version : Streaming internet radio issue

25th January 2009, 12:49 AM
I have been trying to setup streaming internet radio on a Fedora 10 install. The radio stations I am trying to listen to are at www.wpr.org, there are 3 different ones I'm trying:

None of them seem to work. I've tried the Rhythmbox player that was installed by default, Audacious, and many of the other players that are available.

I've worked through all of the various suggestions on this forum and spent a lot of time working on Audacious, simply because there were a lot of suggestions out there for it.

Would anyone have time to try to help or point me in a different direction to get this solved?

Hi Rotorblades. Links 2 and 3 opened in Totem here by simply clicking them. The first one, maybe it needs RealPlayer ?

Edit: Installed RealPlayer per instructions at http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f10.html#realplayer, clicked your Wisconsin Public Radio link and RealPlayer opened it.

Thanks to everyone who posted. I ended up installing Real Player and that works great with the "ram" stream.

The other streams, I am still unable to play. I click on them, and Totem comes up, but I get an error message. However, being that I am able to get the Real Player stream working, I'm :D

Thanks for all the input!
