UFRaw-0.15 has been available for about a month now from the ufraw website (http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/). i was just wondering when i should expect the update to show up through my yum updates. i know i could probably compile this myself. is there any advantage or disadvantage to waiting for the update through yum?

i know that who ever is responsible for creating the updated package is a volunteer. and i appreciate the work that person does. is there any place to request a package to be updated?

thanks,

Hello:
The package is provided by Fedora and not rpmfusion.
You can file a request through bugzilla against the package for an update.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/ or if you are in a hurry I can provide you with the new rpms, if you tell me which arch your are running.

ufraw-debuginfo-0.15-1.fc10.x86_64.rpm
ufraw-gimp-0.15-1.fc10.x86_64.rpm
ufraw-cinepaint-0.15-1.fc10.x86_64.rpm
ufraw-common-0.15-1.fc10.x86_64.rpm
ufraw-0.15-1.fc10.x86_64.rpm
ufraw-0.15-1.fc10.src.rpm

thanks. i'm updated!

so, i'd like to know where you got these? can you explain the process that happens between the time that the ufraw developers make an update available and the time that it shows up as an update with yum?

i really appreciate your time.

Hello:
I built those rpms myself using the spec file created by the package maintainer for fedora.

I think that the process is different for each package/package maintainer as to how quickly they update the rpm packages with the latest release.

So .... I guess I'm saying I'm not really sure if there is any "standard" process. :)

Maybe Rahul [another CM] might be able to shed some light on the process, if he is around.
