View Full Version : Saving Gnome Session

15th January 2009, 12:11 PM
Like many other users, I'm sure, my Gnome session settings are not saved and then restored upon the next login. Looks like it will be a while before this is fixed, at least according to bugzilla. Does anyone have some sort of workaround for this other than the one outlined in this http://blogs.sun.com/mattman/entry/gnome_2_24_session_save1l blog page? It's getting kind of annoying to have to restore things manually.

That bugzilla stuff is a joke, no? Eveyone is posting bugs and the devs are saying things like "Get the code and fix it yourself." Jeesh!

Yes, I've searched.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't read your post properly :(

Apparently, this blog entry (http://blogs.sun.com/mattman/entry/gnome_2_24_session_save1) discusses a helpful workaround.

I haven't tried it yet. Hope it helps.

Hi adrianx. Thanks for the reply. That blog entry is the one I pointed out in the first post. ;)

Yes sorry, I've edited my original post. I just saw Gnome - session - save - and didn't really pay careful attention to the rest.

No worries. Glad to see someone offering to help. I suppose session saving isn't working for you either?
