What are your settings for the fonts (font type, size, and style) that you use on your Fedora machine? Open to those that use non-MS and MS fonts.

I use the defaults for everything (Sans, Monospace) at size 10. If I understand it correctly, the default for Fedora is DejaVu.

My font resolution is 90 dpi and I set smoothing to greyscale and hinting to medium (i.e. rendering = best shapes).

I have a CRT monitor that flickers too much at 60Hz, so I use 1152x864 / 75Hz - that's the kindest on my eyes and head.

Dejavu Sans at size 7 with dpi 98. I use 1280x800 LCD display. The only problem is, that fonts at size 6 (for example in Pidgin contacts descriptions) look awful.

I have a 1280x800 LCD on my lappy with a 15in screen. The best settings for me are:

Application Font: Arial 7
Document Font: Arial 8
Desktop Font: Arial 7
Window Title Font: Arial (Italic) 7
Fixed Width Font: Arial 7

Setting the Subpixel smoothing to true, Hinting at full, Subpixel Order to RGB and the resolution to 96dpi

I use the 10x20 font for everything.

I tried this too, but changed my resolution dip slightly, works great. Thanks for your suggestion!
