Hi,

I am using Fedora Core 2 (2.6.5-1.358). Now I want to instal the ATI's 3D driver. The ATI driver requires kernel-sourcecode installed but i have just the kernel-source in my system.
I can go head or I have necessary install the kernel-sourcecode?

What are the difference between these two packs?

kernel-source-2.6.5-1.358.i386

and

kernel-sourcecode-2.6.6-1.427.noarch

Why kernel-sourcecode in not the Fedora RPM files distribution?

Any input would be appreciated.

Max :)

source code is on Fedora distribution, look for kernel devel packages in add/remove programs

It's just been renamed between versions.

Originally the kernel source was named kernel-source-<version number>.i386.rpm

When they changed it from an i386 package to a noarch package it caused some problems so they also changed the package name too to fix this. So later releases are kernel-sourcecode-<version number>.noarch.rpm

I know, this caused a LOT of confusion
