Hi all,

Can I use my digicam (SONY DSC-U20, USB Mass Storage Device compatible) to boot Linux?
I have a spare 8MB Sony MemoryStick, on which the FC2 diskboot.img (6MB) would fit.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

This requires a capable BIOS. When you boot up press the key for your setup screen. See if you can put removable devices or whatever they call it ahead of the hard drive.

i think that will work but if you put it in a cd ....like knoppix or mandrake move..

Unfortunately, my cam doesn't even let me modify the boot sector of the memory stick.
This will not work, I'm afraid...

Not with a Sony camera, apparently. Maybe a cheap memory stick reader would do the trick.

But it's hard to justify that expense when a cheap USB drive would probably work.
