Hello, I was trying to find the command to let me know which processes are running. This allows one to know the PID and to 'kill' a process (and program). I can't see how to do it in Fedora.

When I run the command 'proc', I get the message, 'command not found.' Yet, I can 'man proc' and get all the variations on the command.

Can anyone show inform me how and/or send me the link providing the info? I'd really appreciate that.

top
ps
are most common

proc is in /sbin so you need full path as user:
/sbin/proc

(By default /sbin isn't in user's $PATH)

Oh yeah, forgot about that:

1) top

2) /sbin/ (needing to use the full path). I think fdisk requires that, too, right?

ps
top
and then: kill (the process you want)
