I'm having trouble with my sound in Fedora Core 2. I am unable to hear two sounds playing at once. For example, I was running the sound card test program and was sending IM's with Gaim. After the the sound test was done playing its test sound, I finally heard the IM sounds from the messages I sent during the test... almost as if the sounds were queued up. I'm also noticing a little popping sound after an IM sound plays. I thought ALSA was supposed to allow for "full duplex" I think it's called, where you can hear more than one sound at once.

My soundcard is the VT82C686 AC97, via82c686 chipset i think, and its using the snd-via82xx driver.

I'm no Linux sound guru and would appreciate any help.
