The network manager in my fedora 9 system wont get ip's by dhcp.if i disable network manager all works fine..but if network manager is on..when the system boots it says disconnected

need more data.

go to system-config-network and give the settings for your interface.
(or better, post a snapshot)

(checked) active eth0

controlled by network manager (checked)
activate device when computer starts(checked)
automatically obtain ip address with settings (dhcp)
automaticaly obtain dns information from provider(checked)

all seems right.
and if you uncheck control by NetworkManager, it works?
strange.

what version are you using?
try upgrading/downgrading network manager, and see if the problem still persists...

try in services, if its disable, check it with enable, so reboot...
