I'm running Fedora 8.

When I login and my desktop attempts to come up I get a bug-buddy pop up with the following:

On my desktop I see the top and bottom task bars but I have no icon or background on the desktop. If I try to launch a program from the task bar they work except I can't do any of the System, Preferences,Look and Feel task. When I attempt them I get the same bug-buddy pop up.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Any help would be appreciated.

I read Waggoner thread about installing gTweakui to fix a similar situation. I installed gTweakui but it didn't help. However now I get a different Bug Buddy message;
