Hey everyone!

This is my first post, sorry to make it about a problem!

I'm running Fedora Core 2, Desktop kernel 2.6-7, nVidia latest drivers. This is never happened before....

When i try to log in it says:

There already appears to be a X server running on display :0. Should I try another display number?

If I click "NO" it brings up the same message if I click "YES" It starts a new X server with the message:

The specified display was busy so this server was started on display :1

this keeps on happening....I reached display :6 at one point, with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in Advance! :D

is it taking you to the text mode login screen?

since you are using the new kernel you may also need to reinstall your nvidia drivers for your new kernel...what happens when you use your previous kernel version?

No I installed the drivers for the kernel, this is'nt a message saying something like

I could'nt start X

or something like that when u have'nt reinstalled your drivers after a kernel upgrade.

This is different...it gets in to init 5, with a graphical login and everything but when I type my username and password it throws up this message...

Thanks for the reply!
