View Full Version : Scilab and Alt Gr (works when run as root, but not as a user)

I installed Scilab 5.0.2, but the Alt Gr key doesn't work. So I cannot insert some useful symbols from the keyboard. It just ignores Alt Gr and inserts the default symbol assigned to the key.

I have earlier had Scilab 4 (using it very very rarely) in previous versions of Fedora and I don't remember having this problem then. I'm using Fedora 10 Preview.

When I open Scilab from the terminal, I get the following message:

Could not file localization file for LC_MESSAGES
Switch back to the default language en_US
I have Estonian keyboard (ET), but all characters characteristic to Estonian language does work.

Before filing it in Scilab's bugzilla, I thought to ask if someone has the same problem or knows how to fix it?

I tried and it doesn't work in Fedora 9 also.

(So I moved the thread back to the Software forum, bob ;))

EDIT: New information: works as root.
