View Full Version : Evince Not Saving Pdfs Properly (But Pdfs Readable in Windows' Acroread)

Hi all. This is weird, and it's happening on my F9 64 bit work machine. Evince's "Save a copy" feature started to save pdf copies in blank, with the correct number of pages showing. I used xpdf and ePDFViewer to see the text, with the same result  . My research provided me this similar complaint: http://www.nabble.com/Save-a-Copy-is-broken-in-Fedora-9-td18465010.html; as well as this apparently unsolved bug report: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543118.
Things turn even stranger because I can see perfectly those same pdfs using Adobe Reader on a Windows XP machine  . So, the text was not destroyed, it's just invisible to pdf readers in F9  .
I stopped short of installing acroread 32 bit, due to the bunch of .i386 dependencies required and because I suspect the result would be the same  .
The other thing worth mentioning is that I saved those pdfs using Evince inside Firefox 3.
As usual, thanks in advance for any hints.

Well, given the lack of feedback, I had no option but to install acroread 32 bit into my 64 bit F9. After installation, along with a bunch of 32 bit dependencies, acroread started flawlessly and read without problems the files. So, if anybody has a suggestion as to which bugzilla I should go to denounce this nasty bug I will do it .
