I cannot update Perl to 5.8.8 because all it does is spin it's wheels searching for dependencies. It gets to about 40% and doesn't get past that. I have to kill the process to quit the Updater program. Here's the package info:

Title perl-5.8.8-41.fc8
ID FEDORA-2008-7421
Type bugfix
Status stable
Issued 2008-09-05 10:41:29
Description - apply bless/overload fixes from upstream (U31996, U32018, U32019, U32025)

This fixes bugzilla 379791 and 460095 for Fedora 8 (Fedora 9+ are not affected by this problem). This update does not close/touch those bugs, because they are filed against RHEL.

Hello:
Have you installed the new signing key for Fedora 8 ?

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/New_signing_key
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Enabling_new_signing_key

If not, do so and then try your update again.

Yes, all the other updates have gone thru with the new key since the beginning of this week.
