I have Fedora core 9 which I like over Ubuntu except for one small thing. I like how Ubuntu handles it's windows better. When you double click on a folder in Ubuntu it doesn't open up a new window and it displays the full file name which makes it really easy to copy paste that into a terminal.

Is it possible to switch to that type of window in Fedora Core 9?

do you mean if you go to System > Preferences > Personal > File Management ? you should be able to change the behavior there

Alright I got it to always open up in a browser type window. Only thing it doesn't show is a full file path that I can just copy paste into a terminal. But I can live without that, I'm just happy to not have 100 windows opened.

have you tryied clicking on the button at the left of the location bar?

It is, once you get rid of the curious default behavior of opening up a gagillion windows. :p
