I have a system that was running amanda backups to a remote server successfully under Fedora 8, but after I upgraded it to Fedora 9 the amanda backups no longer work. Both amanda and amanda-client (2.5.2p1-10) are installed on the upgraded system, .amandahosts is the same as it was before the upgrade, xinted.d/amanda has "disable=no", and xinted is running on the upgraded system. Anyone have any idea why the new version isn't working? Thanks in advance to all who respond.

Check the verisons on both for Amanda (server and client) and what ever it is using
TAR and/or DUMP.
There were several updates for ATTRS and ACL's (but all may not be equal yet.)

The only qualified backup and recovery for Fedora 8,9,10 is TAR using LVM snapshots.
.
Everything else is lagging behind in some way or another.
Backing up is esay, but worthless if it can't be used to recover anything correctly.

It took some experimenting, but I got amanda working. I had to set SELinux to "permissive" and disable the firewall on the client PC.
