I get a HUGE message that I have updates available (new FC9 install w/network connection), but when I hit the "update system", I get an error and nothing happens.

Hallo papabill

I need more information to help you. It would be the best to start the updater in a console:

1. open a terminal
2. su - (to become root/admin)
3. enter the root password
4. yum upgrade -y
5. After some time you will get an error. Pleas post the error ans some lines before...

I never could get it to go slow enough to read the message, but the way you suggested seems to be working. It's upgrading as we 'speak'-over 340 packages are being installed.

Now, I hope there is a wireless setup program like Ubuntu 8.04 has when it updates the system. Otherwise I'll have to run 'wired'.

Thanks for the info. (As you can tell, I"m a NOOB at Linux-and I'd rather run Fedora than Ubuntu)
