View Full Version : Fedora 9 Sound Devices Muted At Boot

when i first boot either of my Fedora machines the volume sliders are at minimum and muted...

...just wondering how to change that. :confused:

Have you tried setting them how you want, then saving the session? might work.

session still opens with volumes muted on boot... lol... and a terminal window open from when i saved.

(keep in mind that if i simply log out and log back in...the volumes are fine.)

This is by design, because too much volume can physically damage speakers.

Run alsamixer, then:
alsactl store

And notice that /etc/alsa/asound.state now exists (this is where Fedora 9 puts the file).
