Hello,

I'm having a problem with integrated sound on a Toshiba Tecra A8-EZ8311. I tried various distributions with no success. Does anyone have sound working with this setup? Here is my card based on the output of lspci.

Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB4x0 High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

I'm currently using Fedora 9 and have snd_hda_intel loaded.

Thanks in advance,

UPDATE: I'm also receiving this at boot time when I dmesg | grep sound. Thanks.

**SOLVED**

Exact same issue my friend. Googled around, turns out it looks like for some reason alsa wants to use the wrong driver module for this card.. Just follow the instructions given by the helpful chaps over at ubuntuforums.org
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5148501

*note*
This is a partially working fix..It isn't something extremely important however, when you plug in headphones, it does not mute the front speakers.

**EDIT**
If anybody knows anything about how to fix this issue, I would be greatly interested in that outcome.
