View Full Version : F8 - Where did networkmanagerdispatcher go?

I just did a clean installation of F8 on my laptop, and updated everything. The last time I set up F8, I had to enable networkmanagerdispatcher to get my wireless card working... however that service seems to not be there this time around... any suggestions as to how to add the service, or a workaround using b43-fwcutter?

Thank you!

$ /sbin/chkconfig --list | grep Network
NetworkManager 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off

Is it on?

# /etc/init.d/NetworkManager status
NetworkManager (pid 1984) is running...

my outputs are exactly the same as you show above, except instead of (pid 1984) I have (pid 2112)... I know that Network Manager is running, but the process NetworkManagerDispatcher has disaperared. Thank you for the links, but I am still confused, any help you could offer would be appreciated!

I appologize, I figured out the issue... it was something unrelated to the running services. I forgot that I had deactivated my wireless card in the BIOS due to some issues I was having with it earlier. Thank you anyways, I appreciate it!
