You're confused? how about us? we're more confused!!! You've given no information at all! what kind of laptop you have, its sound hardware, what version of Fedora you have installed, what codecs you have installed. Absolutely nothing!

How do you expect people to help you? We're not clairvoyant!

Read the red link in my sig and then give more information.

back on topic . In waynes sig there are a few links .One of them is
"MJMWired Installation & Services Guide"
http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f9.html
this has instructions on installing media players , for the firefox plugin
----------
seeing as you are a new user you may want to study some help pages
http://www.mjmwired.net is good , although i don't like " sudo " command to much .I use " su - " to start a terminal session as root
"Dangermouse"
http://dnmouse.webs.com/index.html is also great
and so is " Read This First -(Good Tips)"
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forumdisplay.php?f=61

as others have stated Fedora 9 is not the essayist to learn for the beginner .
but if you stick with it through the steep learning curve . you will really learn something .
for point and click ( like ms ) give Ubuntu a look .
I am with Wayne

People should use the best OS for for their needs
