Has anybody seen this error when installing Firefox:

Invalid UTF8 string passed to pango_layout_set_text()
*** eeeeeeee = [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520006 (NS_ERROR_FILE_TARGET_DOES_NOT_EXIST) [nsIFile.remove]" nsresult: "0x80520006 (NS_ERROR_FILE_TARGET_DOES_NOT_EXIST)" location: "JS frame :: file:///usr/local/firefox/firefox-installer/components/nsExtensionManager.js :: ensureExtensionsFiles :: line 245" data: no]

I downloaded the tar.gz, extracted it into usr/local/firefox
Then I ran the firefox-installer, and it just stopped and gave me this error.
So I deleted the directory it was in, and tried again. The same thing happened, and I'm kind of stuck.
Any help on this would be appreciated, since I don't really know what I'm doing.

well, I suggest you install the firefox-0.9 rpm using yum, that is if yum in properly configured and running accordinf to fedorafaq.org. if so just
yum install firefox

I used the installer on FC2 and it worked fine for me.

Try the official rpm from fedora extras

http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fedora/

make sure you get from either core 1 or core 2 depending which you're running. It didn't work for me - I got a failed dependancy - but it may work for you :)

yum install firefox
This worked great for me, just make sure you get the 0.9.1 version.

The package will add a menu entry to the menu, under Internet, you can drag & drop this shortcut to your desktop or panel for easier access.
