Why cant 't fedora handle any res higher than 1600x1200? This is annyoing... is there any way to fix this brokeness? I can only select as a res 1600x1200 or less, where as in RedHat 9 I could go to 1940x1440... same computer... There has to be some way to hack it back up...

did you install the drivers that comes from nVidia? because defaulkt for FX5900 (same as mine) is using vesa which does nto want to go high resolutions.

Yup, I sure did... Grabbed the latest drivers off NVidias web site... still low res... I have tryed editing the xorg.conf... nothing. It's as if fedora itself is agensed +1600x1200

I can go to 1920x1440 on my ATI Rage 128. Must be your linux video driver.

Nope - I can run 1920 x 1200 with my nvidia drivers. But I had to edit the xorg.conf filel, to put in my refresh and resolution settings manually.

I also had to input the following line into the monitor section, to prevent the nVidia driver forcing it into a lower resolution:
option "IgnoreEDID" "1"
