Since my upgrade from FC7 to FC9, I have been running into an issue with X in reaching the "maximum number of clients" and I can't open any additional windows. Sometimes, I only have Firefox and Evolution running. I have seen in some other Linux forums that this is a recent occurrence. There has been some blame pointed to Firefox 3.0 but I'm wondering if it's the new kernel. I downgraded to Firefox 2.0 for a few weeks and still hit this issue. I'm currently running:

2.6.25.3-18.fc9.i686 #1 SMP on an HP Pavilion a1606n desktop and Pavilion dv8000 laptop.

I've read that in Solaris, you can add "-clients 1024" to the /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers file but I don't think that exists for Linux. Has anyone else encountered this and/or found a fix or workaround for it besides restarting X?
