I can't even enter the command mode to recover the original xorg.conf file back. Is there any solution?

I can enter GRUB, and see the xorg.conf under /etc/... but I don't know how to manipulate the files.

Thanks

first unless you NEED fedora 6 ( it has pased it's end of life "Fedora Core 6: Active until 2007-12-07")
you might want to install fedora 8 (or 9 --if your hardware will support it -- )
if you want to stay with the unsupported fedora 6 then
use your install cd ( disk 1 ) to boot into rescue mode
after the cd tells you to "chroot /mnt/sysimage "
type in
" there may be a backup of the orig. file "

nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf~

if this IS the file BEFORE you edited it then save it as xorg.conf
or if this file is empty then do this

nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

and undo what you did
