Hello:
Log out of root and log in as a normal user, then open a terminal and
log in as root, then
cd /to/where/your/rpms/are

then use

yum localinstall *.rpm
or
yum localinstall --nogpgcheck *.rpm

Seve, I am also interested to know why this approach is used for additional installations?

Hello:

If you use yum localinstall
and there are any dependency issues yum will search and resolve those dependencies if possible from your installed repositories.

Folks using F9 have had some issues with permissions when logged in as root and they try to double click the rpm. I'm not sure if it has to do with the new Policy Kit or the new Package manager ?

I always use yum or yumex and never run as root so I don't have any first hand experience with the same issue :)

If you search the forums you will find others who have had the same problem as you.
