I recently installed Fedora 9 on a Toshiba M40 laptop 1.89Ghz and 1G ram but Vmware and Google Earth seem to run very slowly. I run Fedora 8 before
but this is too slow. Same programs on Windows XP run perfectly. Should I go back to Fedora 8 or perhaps Ubuntu?

hmm.... how slow is too slow?? I have both of them on my lappy 1.8ghz Intel T7100 dual core wit h1gb ram and they are fine with me....

One thing tho, I can only run them without 3d desktop effect (i.e. metacity). I have a vmware server wit h win2003 and the guest run faster then i want.... wit ha single cpu setting and 200+ ram, google earth is fine if internet is fine... not with compiz-fusion, of cource

I kinda satisfy with it.
