View Full Version : NDISWRAPPER Issue

5th June 2008, 09:00 PM
I installed NDISWRAPPER successfully.

I am trying to install a WG311v3 wireless card.

I get to the point where I run ndiswrapper -i WG311v3.inf

I get a message that it is installing wg311v3......

So it looks like it is working so far but ...

Then I do a ndiswrapper -l and I get

wg311v3 : Driver Installed

This is only partially correct from all that I have read. I see no messages indicating the hardware was detected/present like I should see.

I don't want to proceed any further with the process until I fix this. My intention is to try other drivers I downloaded.

So my question is how do I remove the driver that was installed and start over?

you can always do a ndiswrapper -r wg311v3 to uninstall the driver. But i would suggest doing a modprobe ndiswrapper
and then a
iwlist scan

and see if it picks up any wireless cards...

Hello LenL

Ndiswrapper is sensitive to which drivers you use. Are you aware that it will not work with Windows driver for Vista.

To remove the driver you have already installed:

ndiswrapper -e WG311v3.inf
