I have searched this forum on how to enable XDMCP in Fedora 9. I was unable to find an answer. It seems I can not find the login setup anywhere. Any clues? Thanks!!

Please reference the release note.
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/release-notes/f9/en_US/sn-Desktop.html

and follow next to modify the file /etc/gdm/custom.conf
http://live.gnome.org/GDM/2.22/Configuration

good luck.

Anyone have FC 9 XDMCP working? I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what is wrong. Do I need more than;

[xdmcp]
Enable=true

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

No luck with XDMCP and gdm. I have resorted to using kdm (which does serve XDMCP just fine) and gnome desktop (note that this uses KDE for just the login screen, not for your desktop). If you search the forums, there are better guides on how to do this, but briefly

yum install kdebase-workspace
mv /etc/sysconfig/{desktop,desktop.bak}
echo 'DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"' > /etc/sysconfig/desktop

and edit /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess to suit. You can configure kdm via /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc

Cheers m8, a shame but any chooser will do for me, I am really not keen on anyone in particular. A desktop manager is a whole different story, but then again most of my Linux boxes run in init 3 anyways..hehe

init 3
rpm -e gdm
rpm Uvh gdm-2.20.5-1.fc8 fedorainfinity-gdm-theme-8.0.1-1.fc8

there are no missing dependencies and it will work just fine.

FWIW the bug that reports that xdmcp in F9 using gdm is broken is 446224. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=446224.
