running with out a net connection is very " fun", i mean hard . i am assuming that totem ( installed by default) is not playing it .
use a computer , with net connection to download and burn to disc [ cd or dvd ]
mplayer and all the codeces
-------
what fedora are you using 6,7,8,or 9
-------
for Fedora 8 386 NOT 64 bit
http://livna-dl.reloumirrors.net/fedora/8/i386/
and download
mplayer-1.0-0.90.rc2.lvn8.i386.rpm
mplayer-doc-1.0-0.90.rc2.lvn8.i386.rpm
mplayer-gui-1.0-0.90.rc2.lvn8.i386.rpm
then download
all-20071007.tar.bz2
from
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/
and read http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html the site for instructions to install the codecs
burn to disk then copy them to your fedora box
some helpful reading so you can install the programs from the cd /dvd
http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f8.html
http://www.fedorafaq.org/
BUT ALL THE HOWTWO'S ARE FOR USING A NET CONNECTED COMPUTER
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE PREFERRED OPTION " yum " to install
