I'm using Gnome, Fedora Core 1.

I have added some desktop icons, a different wallpaper and had customised the taskbar.

I want all users to have the same modified desktop by default. How do I copy the modified desktop layout during user creation?

Is it gotta do with /etc/skel? What are the files that I need to copy into it?

I know all the icon shortcuts are .desktop files in ~/Desktop (That would be shorthand for /home/username/Desktop).

I believe /etc/skel is the skeleton directory that gets copied when a user is created. You could make some links to directories in your home folder if that will be the template.
