At least in gnome simply right click-> configuration then next and then click the remove from panel button. That should work.

Because if not it'd be best just to do a
rpm -e up2date

if a `rpm -e up2date` has done, do I need to re-install up2date again if I want to use it somedays later? Thanks.

yes, that will remove the package and require you to install again later.

Ok, this is an old thread, but does anyone a good solution for this in FC 2? Right clicking and using grafical configuration removes it, but it'll come back next time I log in. Thanks.

Right click -> configuration then next and then click the remove from panel button.
After that, you have to close your session and select the option "Save the current configuration". That should do it...

I am not sure if it will work for everyone, but it did for me.

go to system settings, server settings, services. Then unclick rhnsd

That works for me...
