I just upgraded FC8 to FC9 and beyond being a complete waste of time so far (went the preupgrade route and then it was stuck with an endless loop of "GRUB" being printed to the console - I blew away everything and started from scratch).

So I am up and running but I can't get autofs to work. I copied my autofs files (auto.master etc) from my FC8 version. No matter what I do, I can't get the shares mounted.

My auto.master file has:

/share1 /etc/auto.share1 -hard,intr,bg,nolock,rw

and auto.share1

user 192.168.0.107:/SHARE1/user
svn 192.168.0.107:/SHARE1/svn

This worked perfectly fine with all previous versions of Fedora.

The only message written to /var/log/messages after starting autofs is:

May 27 00:37:34 arturo automount[6626]: lookup_read_master: lookup(nisplus): couldn't locate nis+ table auto.master
