Hi Guys,

Fedora 9 64bit works like a charm here except for this one dvd::rip.

Here is the output

[hitboxx@Mothership Desktop]$ dvdrip
Can't locate Video/DVDRip.pm in @INC (@INC contains: lib /usr/lib64/perl5/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/local/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /usr/bin/dvdrip line 96.
[hitboxx@Mothership Desktop]$
The file DVDRip.pm is at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Video. What shall I do now, am I to syslink them, if so, how, I am getting confused. Need some advice. Thanks :)

this doesn't really answer your question, but vobcopy works quite well for me on Fedora 9 x86_64. It is available in the freshrpms repository.

UPDATE

An alternative and probably more sensible approach to my answer below is given at http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=192868

I had the same problem, for dvdrip.i386. Here's how I fixed it:

root> yum install glibc-devel glibc-headers dvdrip.i386 perl-Glib.i386 perl-Gtk2.i386 perl-ExtUtils-PkgConfig.noarch

root> perl -e shell -MCPAN
cpan> install Video::DVDRip

If this works for you, then great. However, mine bailed with the error "Undefined subroutine &POSIX::setlocale called at blib/lib/Video/DVDRip/Config.pm line 687." The cure for me was as follows:

cpan> quit

root> cd ~/.cpan/build/dvdrip <- note, if more than one, just pick one.

root> vim blib/lib/Video/DVDRip/Config.pm
< now add the line "use POSIX;" near the front of the file >

root> perl Makefile.PL

root> make

root> make install

At this point, I then had a working installation of DVD::Rip.
