Well long time since I have been on these forums...

Well anyways, I have been trying to install fedora 9 on my benching pc. If it helps the motherboard is a Foxconn Mars with the latest bios installation.

Well while it is trying to load Anaconda it hangs at this message

Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(253,0)

pictures are here (http://s225.photobucket.com/albums/dd102/yomama9388/fedora%20problems/)

All help is appreciated!

"The message means the kernel cannot find the root file system, make sure that grub is parsing the correct root=/dev/???? parameter, make sure that the device exists and that the kernel has driver support for the device compiled in."

I had a similar problem with Fedora 9 and what it turned out to be was a bad dist of CD's. Download another set from another mirror and verify it's shalsum before going any farther. I've given up with 9 for now because of all of it's other problems.
