Shorewall Binary error

Hi again,

I was trying to install the shorewall firewall application using the .rpm file but error where i guess i need to use the source file.

i installed the rpm-buil though yum. Then i did the following:

rpmbuild --rebuild shorewall-4.0.10-1.src.rpm and the following result followed:

error : source package expected, binary found
error : shorewall-4.0.10-1.noarch.rpm cannot be installed

Anyone knows the reason?

Someone smarter than I can explain the errors. My suggestion is to install it using yum. yum install shorewall.

Thanks, not sure why i didn't though of that earlier..i have succesfully installed shorewall using yum but i can't seem to find the program. How do i start it?

Read the Introduction to Shorewall (http://www.shorewall.net/Introduction.html) and the Shorewall Quick Start Guide (http://www.shorewall.net/shorewall_quickstart_guide.htm), edit the configuration files and enable Shorewall with "chkconfig shorewall on", disable the standard Fedora firewall script with "chkconfig firewall off" and reboot.
