View Full Version : Updating xorg-x11-server-Xorg to 1.3.0 destroyed my X window

10th March 2008, 08:06 AM
After updating the xorg-x11-server-Xorg to version on Feb 27, I was not able to open the X window after the X was reconfigured. Eath time the X is started, The Nvidia log flashes on the screen for less than 1 second (much shorter than before) and the X window doesn't show. I'm using the driver from livna with version 169.09 (and now is 169.12). Below is the end of my Xorg.0.log file showing some errors.

II) NVIDIA(0): Initialized GPU GART.
(WW) NVIDIA(0): Error: Unable to find DOS (Enable/Disable output switching)
(WW) NVIDIA(0): file path under /proc/acpi/video. NVIDIA X driver will not
(WW) NVIDIA(0): be able to respond to display change hotkey events.
(II) NVIDIA(0): Setting mode "nvidia-auto-select"
(II) Loading extension NV-GLX
(II) NVIDIA(0): NVIDIA 3D Acceleration Architecture Initialized
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Need libwfb but wfbScreenInit not found

Fatal server error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0

However, with the old, restored xorg.conf file, the X can be started successfully. It's really strange! Anybody can help me?
