I tried to set the keyboard rate and delay with the following command:

kbdrate -d 250 -r 30

The output of the command seems to indicate that the rate/delay were set to the requested parameters. However, in practice, the old rate/delay persists. No matter what I try to set it to, the rate and delay seems to remain about 30 keys/second and 500 millisecond.

How can I change the actual keyboard rate to 30 keys/second and a delay of 250 milliseconds?

Hey. I'm answering my own question. The following worked

xset r rate 250 30

I'm not sure why the kbrate command doesn't work.
