I found this a pleasant surprise. :)
Rebuilding rpms from deltarpms~
~(38/42): kmod-nvidia-2.6. 100% |=========================| 2.7 MB 00:24

That's cool, about time :)

deltarpms are great. The recent kernel update was less than 3mb rather than the usual 16mb. A full system update yesterday claimed to require 119mb of downloads, with yum-presto enabled it did the full update with just 10mb of downloads.

I'm surprised this feature isn't being advertised as a major addition - it's gonna be installed by default in F9.

How did you enable drpms in livna?

I get a
No Presto metadata available for livna

Thanks.

F7 has Livna drpms, F8 doesn't. See

Edit: I checked and x86_64 is the same.

I find that very odd, since my system is most definitely fedora 8. Incidentally, I get this too.
No Presto metadata available for livnaBut, you can see from the line above that at least one of the livna mirrors has drpms.

I think the "rebuilding rpms" message applies to all the updates but doesn't mean every rpm is a delta.

I had over 100 updates done at that time, only 42 of them showed up as being rebuilds. Also, that kmod-nvidia is 11mb, the download was only 2.7mb.

I think kmod-nvidia is ~2.6mb

I'm sure livna will have drpms for F8, but atm I don't see them in the main repository. Maybe in testing or development repos?
